Axel Trolese's career started in 2015 by winning the Casella Prize at Premio Venezia, followed by a discographic debut with the complete Debussy's Etudes in 2016.
Successive acknowledgements have been the Grand Prix Alain Marinaro, Pozzoli International Piano Competition and the Giuseppe Sinopoli Prize assigned by the Italian President of Republic. He studied with Maurizio Baglini, Denis Pascal, Benedetto Lupo and Louis Lortie. Axel Trolese has recorded the complete Iberia by Albéniz in two CDs with Da Vinci Classics (2021 and 2023). He has played at Dresdner Musikfestspiele, Auditorium Parco della Musica, Salle Cortot, Flagey, Beijing Millennium Concert Hall, Keyboard Trust London, Quirinal Palace, Società del Quartetto di Milano, Ravenna Festival, Weimarhalle and La Fenice.
Due to health reasons the candidates Shotaro Nishimura and Zixi Chen could not participate in the GPP 2022. They received the possibility to participate in this edition.
