Biography

Xuanxiang Wu previously studied with Ting Zhong at the Music Middle School affiliated to the Shanghai Conservatory of Music. Currently, he is studying with Ernest Barretta at the Juilliard Pre-College. He has performed with the Shanghai Philharmonic Orchestra, Xiamen Philharmonic Orchestra, Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra, New York Session Symphony and Moscow State Academic Symphony Orchestra. His many honours are the Overall Winner at the Philadelphia International Music Festival Winter Concerto Competition and has been interviewed by CBS News, FOX 5 New York, Queens Ledger and World Daily. First Prize and the Classical Prize at the 2021 Canada International Piano Competition, and first prize at the 2018 New York International Music Competition.

Due to health reasons the candidates Shotaro Nishimura and Zixi Chen could not participate in the GPP 2022. They received the possibility to participate in this edition.
