Biography

Yuri started playing the piano at the age of 6 and is currently studying piano at the Tokyo University of the Arts with Hiroshi Arimori. He has won a number of prizes including the Most Promising Artist Prize of the 20th Hamamatsu International Piano Academy in 2016, the 2nd Prize in the “Recital Section” of the 17th Osaka International Music Competition in 2016. He has also won the Gold Prize in the Senior High School Category, the Silver Prize in the Concerto C Category, and the Bronze Prize in the Professional Category in International Chopin Piano Competition in Asia. He has performed piano concertos with Danube Symphony Orchestra conducted by András Deák, and with the Geidai Philharmonia Orchestra conducted by Kazufumi Yamashita.

 

Due to health reasons the candidates Shotaro Nishimura and Zixi Chen could not participate in the GPP 2022. They received the possibility to participate in this edition.
