Born in 1998, Alessandro Villalva began studying the piano at the age of 5. Former student of S. Gadjiev, he had taken lessons with musicians such as N. Trull, J. Rouvier, P. Gililov, I. Rohmann and A. Brendel. Since 2017, he is studying at the Mozarteum Uni. Salzburg with P. De Maria. From an early age, he began facing competitions and winning various prizes (the latest is the Special Prize “Best Contestant of Round 2” at the 17th Int. Tchaikovsky Competition in Moscow). He has been also invited to perform at prestigious musical events in Slovenia, Austria, and Italy, such as Ravello Festival.
Due to health reasons the candidates Shotaro Nishimura and Zixi Chen could not participate in the GPP 2022. They received the possibility to participate in this edition.
