Biography

Jakub Sládek had his first solo performance with an orchestra at the age of ten. He has since performed as a soloist with the Bohuslav Martinů Philharmonic, PKF – Prague Philharmonia, Janáček Philharmonic, Moravian Philharmonic, Czech Philharmonic Youth Orchestra and the Brno Philharmonic, among others. He is a prizewinner of numerous competitions and has performed throughout Europe. He has received an Artist Diploma with highest honours at the Guildhall School in London, studying with Ronan O'Hora and Noriko Ogawa and is studying with Professor Ivan Klánský towards a doctoral degree at Prague's HAMU. He has attended masterclasses with artists such as Imogen Cooper, Christian Blackshaw, Joanna MacGregor, Lukáš Vondráček, Andrea Bonatta and Grigory Gruzman.

 

Due to health reasons the candidates Shotaro Nishimura and Zixi Chen could not participate in the GPP 2022. They received the possibility to participate in this edition.
