Biography

Sohta Miura began his piano training at the age of five. As a student at the Toho Gakuen School of Music, he gained remarkable recognition by winning the third prize at the 89th Music Competition of Japan (2020), the most prestigious and historically significant music competition in Japan. He also won the first prize at the International Competition in Treviso, Italy (2024). Sohta has performed as a soloist with renowned orchestras such as the Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra and the Toho Gakuen Orchestra. His performances have been featured on NHK and radio programs. Furthermore, he has given concerts in major Japanese cities such as Osaka, Tokyo and Hamamatsu, as well as in Kassel, Germany.

 

Due to health reasons the candidates Shotaro Nishimura and Zixi Chen could not participate in the GPP 2022. They received the possibility to participate in this edition.
